Los nuevos comportamientos en los turistas hacen surgir diversas tipologías turísticas, entre ellas el turismo de reuniones, el cual ha cobrado interés a nivel mundial. En México ha experimentado un crecimiento de importancia y el Estado de Aguascalientes ha establecido como una de sus estrategias el ofertar a la ciudad de Aguascalientes como destino para turismo de reuniones. Esta tesis doctoral pretende comprobar que la ciudad de Aguascalientes es un destino que posee elementos adecuados para impulsar el turismo de reuniones, pero carece de un modelo de gestión para este tipo de turismo. Para ello, se realiza una contextualizacióne identificación de la potencialidad que posee el destino para el desarrollo de esta tipología y un análisis de las relaciones entre los actores involucrados en su planificación y gestión, llegando a proponer un modelo de gestión para el turismo de reuniones aplicable a la ciudad de Aguascalientes.

The new behaviors in tourists give riseto different types of tourism, including meeting tourism, which has gained interest worldwide. In Mexico has experienced a significant growth and the State of Aguascalientes has established as one of its strategies to offer the city of Aguascalientes as a destinationfor meeting tourism. This doctoral thesis aims to verify that the city of Aguascalientes is a destination that has adequate elements to boost tourism of meetings, but lacks a management model for this type of tourism. To do this, is performed a contextualziation and identification of the potentiality of the destination for the development of this typology and an analysis of the relationships between the actors involved in its planning and management is carried out, arriving to propose a management model for meeting tourism applicable to the city of Aguascalientes.
