Pueblos Mágicos es un programa de la Secretaría de Turismo Federal que, a través de un enfoque regional, ha diversificado la oferta turística de México. Las localidades, que, por su singularidad, han sido adscritas a este programa, se han visto involucradas en una actividad que no llevaban a cabo y a la que ahora deben dar un impulso como apoyo al desarrollo turístico del país y como factor de crecimiento para sus propios residentes. Esta tesis doctoral presenta un estudio exploratorio y descriptivo en estas localidades, que pretende identificar aspectos tales como la conformación de su producto turístico, la dinámica relacional gestora y las estrategias competitivas que han influido en su consolidación como poblaciones adscritas al Programa Pueblos Mágicos, para aportar una metodología aplicable a programas turísticos similares y así contribuir a la efectividad de los mismos y, en consecuencia, al impulso turístico de las comunidades incorporadas a ellos.

Magic Villages is a program of the Secretariat of Federal Tourism that through a regional approach has diversified the tourist offer of Mexico. The localities, which due to their uniqueness have been attached to this program, have been involved in an activity that they had not carried out and to the one which now they must give an impulse to support the tourist development of the country and as a growth factor for their own residents. This doctoral thesis presents an exploratory and descriptive study in these localities, which aims to identify the conformation of their tourism product, the management relational dynamic and the competitive strategies that have influenced their consolidation as Magic Villages, in order to contribute a methodology applicable to similar tourist programs and thus contribute to the effectiveness of the same and, consequently, to the tourist progress of the communities incorporated to them.
