[ES] La incontinencia urinaria (IU) es un grave problema en nuestra sociedad por su frecuencia, repercusión y magnitud. Las personas que padecen IU pueden tener graves repercusiones sociales y psicológicas, en algunos casos deteriora su calidad de vida y repercute en un enorme gasto sanitario. La IU en mujeres va a ser objeto de nuestro trabajo y como afecta a su calidad de vida. Para la realización del estudio se han incluido mujeres de la ciudad de Jaén de 30 a 80 años pertenecientes al Distrito de Sanitario de Jaén. Para valorar la calidad de vida, se utilizó los cuestionarios I-QOL y el ICIQ.SF. La prevalencia encontrada fue del 43,3% y esta aumenta con la edad. respecto al tipo de incontinencia la IU de esfuerzo es la más frecuente. Ambos test utilizados evidencian que la IU reduce la calidad de vida de las mujeres que la sufren.

[EN] Urinary incontinence (UI) is a serious in problem in our society because of their frequency, magnitude and impact. People suffering UI can have serious social and psychological repercussions, in some cases impairs their quality of life and affects a huge health spending. Urinary incontinence in women will be the subject of our work and how it affects their quality oflife. To carry out the study included women from the town of Jaén of 30 to 80 years belonging to the Sanitary Distrct of Jaén. Questionnaire I-QOL and ICIQ-SF was used to asseee the quality of life.
